Somebody is Teething

I'm not sure if you can tell in these pictures but Big'n has become quite a drooler. The bottom, left tooth has already broken through the gum and we are just waiting for it to come in ALL the way. The bottom right tooth can be seen a little but not much. They seem to really bother him in the evening. We are using Orajel and Tylenol and they both seem to do the trick. Maybe I can get some pictures soon with him showing his teeth.

A visit with Kate

John Thomas and I made a quick stop on Tuesday to see Kate. She was SO good. I managed to get a couple cute pictures and we even had to get Ward's dump truck and monster truck in the shoot. Ward carefully (supervised by me) pushed the dump truck around while John Thomas rode in the back.

mmmmmm.............Nanners

Well, we have continued on the banana train and he seems to like them now. I didn't know what Scott and I would do if we had a child that didn't like bananas because we both LOVE them. We will be trying peaches in the near future. By the way you should see the straps on his new highchair
it looks like he is prepared to go to the moon. Better safe than sorry.

Play Day at Paw Paw's

Last Friday, John Thomas, Hadley, Ward and Ava were all at Paw Paw's having a good time. Paw Paw is doing OK and is now at home. John Thomas spent Friday evening over there with My Mom and slept from 9pm to 9am. WOW!!!! It seems he gets his sleeping habits from his Mammy.

Ward is a Big Brother

Kate Elizabeth Surtees arrived on Wednesay afternoon at 4:23. She weighed in at 8 lbs. 10 oz and is 20 3/4 inches long. She has a head FULL of dark hair and looks a lot like her mommy. We are so happy to have her here and glad everything went well for Krista. I took pictures tonight and will get them uploaded in the morning.

First Feeding

At our visit with Dr. Hardwick he said we could try to give John Thomas some food and cereal if we wanted to. We had a little cereal with some bananas last night. Most of it ended up on his bib or face but I think he managed to get a little in his tummy. I can't say that he was a huge fan of bananas but we are gonig to keep trying them. I can't get over how big my baby looks in these pictures.

Happy 2nd Birthday Ward!!!

Ward turned 2 yesterday and John Thomas and I met him and Aunt Krista at Chuck E Cheese.
John Thomas only lasted about 30 minutes before he passed out, thanks to Aunt Krista loving on him. We gave Ward a monster truck and he called me later yesterday afternoon to inform that his new truck was "crazy and OUT OF CONTROL". His Birthday party won't be until next weekend b/c guess what............Krista is having the baby today. I am anxiously waiting for John Thomas to wake up so we can make our way up to the hospital. I will update with stats and pictures ASAP.

4 Month Check-Up

We went to see Dr. Hardwick on Monday for our 4 month check-up. Everything is looking great and the little man is still off of the charts in his height and weight. He weighs a whopping 18 lbs. and 10 oz. My mother informed me that only weighed 18 something on my 1st birthday. Looks like we are going tohave big boyon our hands and the name Big'n just might never go away.

Newborn Pictures

I had this picture taken for Scott when John Thomas was 4 weeks old. This is an old chair of my grandmother's and the photographer just took it over to our side yard adn snapped away. I thought it turned out great and I just went to take it to have it framed today. I can't believe he is already so much bigger than he was just 3 months ago.

Rolling Over

We have been practicing rolling over. We don't do it consistently but we have done it. John Thomas has a Dr.'s appointment on Friday and I will update everyone on our progress. At his 2 month check-up he was "off the charts" in both height and weight and I am anxious to see if he is still that much bigger than most babies his age. He wears anywhere from 6-9 month clothing. Scott and I have nicknamed him Big'n.
OH! he has also gotten to where he likes to himself scream. We can be anywhere and he will just let out a scream and be smiling the whole time.

Tradition

We went to Firebirds to eat on sunday to have our traditional "dinner before delivery". We went there the Sunday before Ward was born, the sunday a week and a half before John Thomas born, and hopefully the new addition will be here this week. Krista's due date is Monday and then Ward's birthday is Tuesday. Please keep Lee and Krista in your prayers.

Happy Birthday Jeff!

Scott and I went to Jeff's 30th Brithday party on Saturday. It was nice to get out and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing everyone.

A Wild Friday Evening

Scott, John Thomas, Libby, and I were sitting on the front porch friday evening when we heard something going on in our backyard. We have horses on both sides of us and the ones on the right side broke our fence and just came on over. Apparently the horses were fighting and one came in our backyard to escape. We called Scott's dad and he came over and put it back in it's own stable. I love looking at the horses around our house but I don't want another one in my yard.

Waiting Patiently

We are awaiting the arrival of John Thomas' new cousin Kate or Collin (we will find out when it arrives) and also the arrival of a friend Asa "Cole" Davis. We can't wait to see them both and get lots of kisses.

Everybody Loves a Good Hat

Scott and I were quite bored on Saturday night and I think we may have even been a little delerious from such a busy week and weekend. Mr. Black and Libby are always such good sports when it comes to me playing with them.
I hate to even type this next paragraph but maybe it will help me. The reason Miss Chitty didn't get photographed is because I ran over her Thursday evening and she didn't make it. She died immediately and didn't have to suffer. I have felt HORRIBLE about it ever since it happened and I miss her already. As many of you know Miss chitty was a part of our family and loved deeply by us all.

All Clean!!!

Well, John Thomas is still liking his bath time. Scott I give him baths together and he has our total attention (as if he doesn't all the time). He still isn't a fan of getting rubbed down with lotion but he is getting better with it.
